I am 37 and living in Johannesburg, South Africa 🇿🇦. In my country SRS is considered a luxury. Not a necessity so one must be filthy rich in order to have bottom surgery. There are no health care services or medical funds that can ease this price and process. There are only psychologists who can't do anything other than just talk and talk and talk. No solutions. I am permanently employed but my salary barely gets me through from month to month. Crowdfunding only works for people who are already in hospital and about to pass away. Traveling to another country for the surgery is downright unaffordable. With all these obstacles in my way, what else is there besides self-mutilation?
