Is getting the majority of cis people to respect our identities on our terms even remotely realistic?
Post Body
I know this comes off as defeatist but I am really starting to think it's impossible to get most cis people to actually see trans people as their gender. Even most cis allies don't actually see us as our genders from my experience, they just as respectful enough to use the right terns and do value us as people.
In Thailand trans women are treated as a third gender, and I am honestly starting to think working towards something like that would be a more realistic goal.
