[Tl;dr below because I love to ramble]
Recently out trans man, I don't currently have enough money to do a full transformation of my wardrobe, so at the moment I'm picking up a few pieces when I can.
I seem to have accidentally gravitated towards a greaser aesthetic (new haircut requires pomade...Already wore a leather jacket 24/7 and white shirt work boots jeans seems to be a very cheap yet masc outfit. Didn't realize til my gf called it out lol)
Ive grown really fond of my workboots and workpants/jeans that I own, but going forward I'm trying to think of other male fashion examples/aesethics I can lean on while shopping. End goal is to have a bullet closet type of thing, somewhat similar to the bastard closet thing from r/malefashionadvice. I don't really have any male figures in my life to help--father passed recently, and my brother's aesethic is gamer graphic tees.
I'm particularly confused in formal clothes, growing up formal was dark jeans plaid top tucked in. Is that the norm? What other options are there? Pre-transition I havent really been the best at fashion either, everything was a mish-mash though I always felt best with jeans tank top jacket. Kinda the same now, just different jeans and looser shirts.
I understand I'll probably go through different fashion phases as I discover myself but if theres like...a directory or guide, somewhere to start that'd be sick. Outfits that 'accentuate' a male sillouete would also be nice, as I have pretty wide hips.
Tl;dr: trying to make a bullet closet of mens clothes. What are some male fashion examples (people or aesethics) I could look to while building my wardrobe?
