UK trans folks, how are you coping with the NHS waiting lists?

I’m nb/trans masc and I desperately want top surgery but knowing it’ll only happen in 5 years because of the waiting lists really gets me down. How do the rest of you deal with this? Is there a way to speed up the process without spending £9k or more? I looked into health insurance but that doesn’t seem to be an option.
