To try and sum it up quickly, I do advocacy on TikTok, with trans rights being one of the things I advocate for, and due to one of my videos I’ve gotten into a long protected argument with someone. I’ve sent scientific study after scientific study but it has now boiled down to how he thinks that a majority of trans people argue from emotion and refuse to define what a woman is. I said that there is a difference between sex and gender, (with gender being socially constructed and influenced while sex is the chromosomal / hormonal / structural component) and while when one transitions their gender changes (and then should be addressed as such), their chromosomes remain the same. (With things like hormones and structure changing) He said that trans people wouldn’t agree with this and that a majority of trans ppl would disagree. I don’t think this is the case. Would you agree with the statement that sex and gender are different, and that while when one transitions, their gender certainly changes, and while they should be addressed as such, biologically (in just terms of chromosomes) nothing changes?
Edit: I am aware that sex here is more nuanced, and that is something that I included in the argument. The the sake of brevity I just put chromosomes but I’m aware it also concerns things like hormones
