Advice for a first date? Super excited but also super nervous!
Post Body

Helloooo!

edit well f me I sent the draft of this from my pocket way tooooo early. Updated with the not draft version

I (36f) have a date (38m) coming up that I am suuuuper excited for - lots of happy butterflies 🥰 it’s been a while since I’ve been this excited to go out with someone. So naturally, I’m incredibly nervous. He is transgender, I am cisgender.

Before I ask though - I want to say I hope that this question is okay. Please feel free to educate me on anything you see fit. Im here to learn! I have two good friends and a few acquaintances that are transgender, but this is the first time I’ve been on a date who is. I would ask my friends more about “how to not fuck this up with my word vomit” but I’m concerned about not saying the right thing, as they have dealt with enough shit from rude people, I don't wanna accidentally add to that. Especially with my foot-in-mouth tendencies lol

This brings me to my begging for advice! I am autistic, and I don’t always pick up when someone is uncomfortable. I learn over time, but this is our first date and I don’t know him well enough to know his specific social queues. If there is any way yall could share some topics to stay away from or topics that are important? Please keep in mind that the “common sense,” answers are usually the ones that I miss and find out I fucked up years later and obsess over how cringey and offensive I was 😭😭 and it wasn’t my intention! I would haaatee for that to happen with him.

I appreciate your help!
