We have a car that's insured (casco complete) with Allianz. Last summer we had the car broken into in Spain, where the back window was smashed and things were stolen from the car, for which we made an insurance claim.
A few weeks ago a tiny stone made a crack in the windshield, for which we went to Carglass. They didn't even really give me the option to pay, they just mentioned the insurance would take care of it and that's that.
Jump to today: we get a call. Sorry, we have to cancel your car insurance because you made 3 claims:
- Replaced back window
- Theft
- Small crack in the window
My question: can they even do this? It hardly makes sense to pay for a product that they then tell you you're not really allowed to use, especially since there's already the construct of a no-claim discount, which I fully understand we shouldn't get. Question 2: shouldn't the broken back window theft be counted as 1 event, therefore 1 claim?
It's not just the cancelled insurance, but also that you have to report for the next 10 YEARS when closing another insurance that a company has cancelled your contract, making everything super expensive.
