Hello!
I (31M) am planning a trip to visit the beautiful alps region of Switzerland in mid-late August. I will be flying from my home in Canada to Milan, Italy. I will then be traveling onwards and upwards by motorcycle. I only have about ten days for my tour and am planning to ride the following route:
- Milan/ Bellinzona
- Saas Fee
- Saas Fee
- Laax
- Laax
- St. Moritz
- St. Moritz
- Bormio/Stelvio
- Milan
- Milan
I already know the major mountain passes which are not to be missed for motorcyclists on this route. I am also aware of the importance of not speeding. The goal is to get some very scenic, leisurely riding in, but also to not go too fast and hopefully experience the culture of the mountains in the areas I have chosen to stay.
Furthermore, I chose these locations for two reasons: First, the mountain passes in between which I hope to ride. And secondly, I plan to stay in hostels, as I enjoy the social aspect of hostels.
So my question is this:
Would you change anything about this itinerary or add any recommendations that are must-sees or must-dos along or near this route?
Any additional tips/info/advice for first time visitors to the region?
My interests are hiking, nature, beer, sports, poetry, art, motorcycles, cars, to name just a few.
Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance! I do hope our paths cross :)
