Hello! I am learning about the Schweizer Bundesfeiertag and I saw it has been celebrated since 1889 but it only became official in 1994. I can't find any more information, but I'm wondering why did it take so long to become official? And why did they make it official when they did? Does a celebration need a certain amount of popularity to be made an official celebration?
