Can I have two visa (B-permit) applications going at the same time?

I am a UK national and to my surprise received two very good offers in Zurich, both companies have offered to sponsor a visa for me.
The positions are similar but are certainly specialist and both are confident that the visas would be successful due to the specialist nature of the jobs.
Has anyone had any experience of two applications with the same kanton? I know it comes from the employer but of course the kanton is going to see my name come up twice!
Any thoughts are much appreciated, thanks!
