Moving abroad with a probationary license

Hi all,
I'm an EU national currently living in Switzerland. I will probably be moving in the next couple of years and since I don't have a driver's license, I would like to get one here before I move. I know that after passing the driving exam, one gets a probationary license valid for 3 years. What happens if I move abroad with this license? If the answer depends on the country, specifically I would like to know about USA, EU countries or UK.
