Dressing "modestly" in Spain?

Post Body

I'm going to be an exchange student in Madrid and I was wondering if showing midriff (crop tops), wearing short shorts/skirts, and showing some cleavage are acceptable. Or is it more common to wear more revealing clothes when going out clubbing or something? I'm from the US so a lot of my shirts show a little strip of my stomach. I just want to make sure I'm not showing more of my body than what is acceptable.

Also: are ripped jeans acceptable?
