Would dark energy be explained by the tendency of space itself to be flat ?
Post Body
I got that the universe is sometimes viewed as the surface of a 4 dimensional sphere. Also in absence of mass space tends to be flat.
But if on large scale space is curved by the curvature of the universe's sphere, the all around tendency of space to be flat would would cause the sphere to grow.
One testable effect would be to see that the "cosmological constant" acceleration effect would decrease overtime.
