Why isn't the 'sound' of tinnitus normalized out like other smells and sounds that we become 'deaf' to?
Post Body

I've noticed that there are certain sounds in my office that I no longer 'hear', and if there is a smell in the house, I no longer 'smell' it, even though it is still there and highly noticeable if I leave the house and then come back. So, why aren't the 'sounds' from tinnitus normalized out as well?
