Let me try this a different way. I really am interested in what AskScience has to say on this topic.

This was a question posed by a colleague: In a right hand dominant individual, would right anterior temporal resection (selective or traditional) be likely to result in dysfunction in a person's ability to comprehend, teach, or produce music?

Feel free to answer that, or the more general question of what areas of the brain are responsible for music?
