I read this article recently: http://www.nature.com/news/pluto-bound-probe-faces-crisis-1.15261
Which basically says that we hoped to find a KBO out past Pluto that New Horizons could fly by after passing Pluto. So far, no reachable candidate has been found.
A - Is this still accurate? B - The article talks about needing massive amounts of Hubble time to look. While New Horizons isn't as good a telescope as Hubble, are the sensors on board useful in the search?
Being so much closer to the search area, and getting closer all the time, I can't help but imagine that the onboard camera would be somewhat useful. And if not, what makes that the case?
