Is there a reason why additional zinc sacrificial anodes couldn't be used to prevent the inevitable corrosion of galvanized pipes?
Post Body

I've always wondered this but was unable to find a specific answer. Theoretically the galvanized pipe rusts eventually because the zinc "runs out" so could you just strap a giant piece of zinc to the piping every 10 years to stop it's eventual degradation?
