I know there are already a number of "visiting looking for help posts" but I was looking for something a bit more specific. I've been down to San Diego once, but we stayed in Encinitas and I felt like that was way too far from everything.

A friend and I are planning on moving down here from Vancouver, Canada for November to bask in the sun and get as much golf in as possible. We're both early 30s and wondering what the best area to stay in is if we wanna get some reasonably priced golf in relatively close to us. We also want to be relatively close to a more lively area with great bars/restaurants to go to.

Also an area that isn't mega expensive, but we do have a moderately decent budget for coming down there. Any help would be mega appreciated!
