ASPD is villainized, often for good reason, but it’s not narcissism, and I wonder if those with mild ASPD could feel at all disturbed by their lack of empathy, or seek to improve themselves in any way. Can those with mild ASPD have empathy, or experience love? what is connection like for them? I have read several personal accounts of people with ASPD who are also very self aware, and have some amount of limited empathy, and i find it fascinating, especially with an overlap i’ve noticed between antisocial-seeming traits and CPTSD. it’s hard to find resources willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.
