We've had a heck of a time finding a groomer that specializes in cats, let alone understands the needs of a long-haired super-senior like my cat Lily. We recently took her to a groomer that obviously specializes in dogs, and paid $50 for The Cat Groomer on staff to basically do nothing. :(
The previous groomer we'd taken her to specialized in cats, but was pretty rough with her. I was there for the whole process, and for an old kitty such treatment was probably not the best. She got scared and peed all over the grooming table.
Before that, she has received a couple of full shaves from our vet while she was under anesthesia for dental visits, but if the vet does it, it tends to be pretty spendy. Plus, I really don't want to have her shaved anymore.
She has some minor matting on her flanks and chest, but as a recessed Tortie, Lily has "tortie-tude" and really won't tolerate me brushing her. I want to get her taken care of before the matting becomes so bad that she needs to be shaved. I really appreciate any suggestions! Thanks <3
