We are looking at apartments and have looked at Modera Raleigh Hills and Cook Street. Modera has 1 unit for AC and central air and Cook Street has central air and heat. And, I've promised myself to look at 3 other apts for a total of 5 before making a decision.
The amenities are better at Modera with a location that's better for our basic needs. Cook St is better for location for our non-basic needs like coffee and cafes. Neither get me excited about price point -- even if we can afford it -- given the current political climate.
However, the prices points are pretty average for an apt with any form of AC.
To be clear, we have 2 portable AC units (the kind with the hose) so I'm asking about some version of pre-installed AC in apts. I know when the air quality is subpar that portable versus "installed" AC help differently.
So, I come here asking -- how important is "installed" AC in the great apt search?
