We (2 adults, 1 dog) are looking to do a 10-12ish day roadtrip from our hometown (Portland) going towards the SE. The only reason for this direction is we feel like we've sort of maxed out on roadtrips in other directions (have seen quite a bit of Washington, Idaho, Northern Cal and a bit of Montana).
We are thinking of maybe going to Nevada or Utah? We are looking for dog friendly activities (so most National Parks are not an option), good food, beautiful sights, outdoor attractions, etc. Also unfortunately needing to avoid very popular destinations as our dog has a hard time with other dogs on leash. Any suggestions on a route for us? We'd prefer to stay in each location at least 2 nights to avoid lots of packing/unpacking.
Pic of the route below is just to have an image for this post but we are not committed to it at all...this is just one idea of potential destination. Thanks for any suggestions!
*I tried posting on the Roadtrip sub and got pretty much no traction, and apparently you can't post about travel on the Oregon sub. If folks have suggestions of where else to post this question, that'd be appreciated!
