It’s a tradition for me and my kid and watch the national dog show every year on thanksgivings. So imagine my surprise when I saw (and somehow have missed for years and years) that we host our own dog show here in Portland and it’s this weekend!

I’ve never been to a dog show. What’s the etiquette?

Any traditions or fun clothing items? Like fun hats ? Is this a suit and tie event? Is a top hat too much?

What’s the seating like there? I recently had a surgery so I can’t stand for too long. Any chairs? Seats? just bench style seating?

There some good margaritas or maybe a rum punch or something floating around at one of these shows?

How do I know which dogs I can hug and which ones I can’t?
