We are in Lake Oswego (Clackamas County) and our lease expires in May.
The first incident happened 2 days after moving in. I have spoken to our neighbor multiple times about this.
The neighbors dog is approx a 4yo Golden Retriever and our dog is a 10.5yo whippet.
The Golden Retriever has gone after our dog before, thankfully, there was a barrier in place.
Our neighbor walks by our door (the one we need to exit to walk our dogs) without their dog on a leash and does not leash their dog even with near misses or when their dog went after ours. Heck, their dog has tried to come into our home as I have been leaving out before.
Our lease says dogs must be leashed.
I have emailed management with video proof of multiple incidents with a simple "I'll reach out to the resident" and nothing changes.
I've reached out to Community Alliance of Tenants and Clackamas County Housing Rights and Resources without a call back.
It goes without saying we are not renewing because of our neighbor but any other ideas on how to handle this for the next 5 months? It's not financially possible to terminate our lease early.
I'm sure I'll regret this post because it'll probably go down some Internet rabbit hole. But I'll try.
