I'm moving to Portland in a few weeks, and my property manager mentioned reserving a street parking space in front of the building for the moving truck, and linked me to the portland.gov website's page about it. Honestly, I felt like I was losing my marbles a little trying to understand it all, so I'm coming here to ask for input. I'm moving into an unmetered neighborhood and it looks like that means I have to post signs 72 hours in advance AND rent barricades, is that accurate? I'm moving from out of state so there's no way for me to put up barricades 72 hours in advance, plus renting them seems kinda ridiculous. That being said, my new place is on a hill and I have no idea how parking will be on the day of the move, so having to park somewhere random might be brutal.
Do any of y'all have experience reserving a space for moving? Any tips/advice? It seems like a complete pain in the ass for anyone who's moving from another state but I don't want to be screwed on the day of. Any input is appreciated, I just want to have a move-in day that doesn't make me want to repeatedly bang my head against the wall of my new apartment.
Thank you!
