Please correct me if I'm wrong, but modernism refers to the ideas of the Enlightenment such as progress and is concerned with structure. Modernist stories for example, have a straightforward narrative with straightforward protagonists and antagonists. Postmodernism, on the other hand, challenges all of these modernist ideas and structures. Often postmodern stories have fourth-wall breaks and are self-referential, not taking realness too seriously. Postmodern architecture and drawings are often lopsided or bizarre to challenge modernist conventions.
Now I am interested in post-postmodernism. It is kind of difficult for me to conceptualize what is going on. I think it would be great if I could get a sense of something that is built upon post-postmodernist ideas. What piece of philosophy or culture would you consider to be post-postmodernist? What are some examples in the world where we see post-postmodern thinking/ideas emerging?
