Very general question, referring to Evald Ilyenkov, the Soviet Marxist-Leninist philosopher famous for works such as The Dialectics of the Abstract and the Concrete in Marx's Capital, Dialectics of the Ideal, and Dialectical Logic, Essays on its History and Theory, to name a few. I find his stuff a very refreshing drink of water compared to Western Marxists such as Althusser, and have yet to encounter someone else who has read him extensively -- apparently creative Soviet Marxism is not incredibly popular in the West -- so I figured I'd pop on over here to see who else has opinions on him.
Thanks for replying! :)
(Despite this post fitting the format of "What do you think of x", which this sub says to take over to r/philosophy, a mod there told me to take my question over here because that policy refers to x's of a more specific type, such as an argument, so I really hope this is the right place.)
