This is for an essay, and I don't understand what N is saying.
I've looked over my notes and read some parts of the sections that are listed in the syllabus, and I don't think I'm making any progress understanding.
All that I have is that the overman conceives reality as it is (Why I am destiny section 5) I guess this means that the overman realizes that "God is dead" as in is aware that the christian god is not believable and therefore christian morals are bunk.
The parts I've read don't help me understand how the overman overcomes nihilism and neither do my notes.
There are the 4 different interpretations of the overman, one being the preparatory man. lives dangerously, embraces active nihilism and pursues knowledge.
There is the higher type that synthesizes the good parts of slave and noble morality.
there is the political interpretation that has the overmen at the top, warriors below that and the mediocre at the lowest
there is the metaphor for continuous self overcoming, where self overcoming is the meaning of our existence.
but I don't understand how any of this is supposed to help us overcome the fact that the existence of values is denied (nihilism).
