If I may,
It appears after Descartes, most philosophers believe the human body is mortal while the “soul” is immortal. While history has shown us immortality is “real” whether for good or bad ie. Socrates and Hitler. The actions one does for or against humanity can carry on for eons. I believed at first that the strive for immortality was a noble cause if positive for humanity. With the creation of social media and the internet or World Wide Web, everyone has the means of becoming immortal. Is the concept of immortality mundane given that everyone can become essentially “immortal”? Is the human strive for immortality prosaic at this point given that it has no meaning?
If my understanding is ignorant or not applicable let me know.
