Given Spinoza's conceptual independence of attributes, how can an object of an idea be the body ?
Post Body
In E1p10, Spinoza states: "Each attribute of a substance must be conceived through itself." But in E2p13, Spinoza seemingly defines the mind - a mode of thought - through the body - a mode of extension (emphasis mine): "The object of the idea constituting the human mind is the body, in other words a certain mode of extension which actually exists, and nothing else."
It seems to me E2p13 does make the mind conceptually dependent on the body, given the former is defined by the latter?
