Are there solutions to the Pinocchio/Liar Paradoxes? If so, are they still paradoxes?
Post Body
- I have no idea how much of my own thinking I can show in the opening post, so here's my question:
One definition of paradox that sounds like it might be describing these "paradoxes" is:
a statement or proposition that, despite sound (or apparently sound) reasoning from acceptable premises, leads to a conclusion that seems senseless, logically unacceptable, or self-contradictory.
However, the conclusions drawn from the Pinocchio/Liar paradoxes don't sound self-contradictory, logically unacceptle, or senseless when I think of them. How do you treat the statements under discussion?
