What is the expanded form of this equation supposed to look like

Primarily what does V dot ∇ V look like? Would it still be a vector field?
For V = u i v j, and ∇ = ∂/∂x i ∂/∂y j
I know V dot ∇ V = u ∂V/∂x v ∂V/∂y, but can this be decomposed further into a vector field like:
u ∂(u i v j)/∂x v ∂(u i v j)/∂y
= <(u ∂u/∂x v ∂u/∂y) i (u ∂v/∂x v ∂v/∂y) j>
And then we can take the divergence?
