Why does my accent change so drastically depending on who I’m talking to?

Hi I’m from Sweden but I speak with a British accent but anyway, I’ve noticed for a long time that I switch accents quite extremely depending on who I’m talking to. If I’m speaking with someone who’s a native English speaker I’ll just talk normally but if I talk to my brother in law who’s from Belgium or my friend from Germany it’s almost as if I match them and start speaking a broken English and sounds exactly like they do, and no not a Swedish broken one, it sounds like I’m from Germany or Belgium and speaking English. Or when I met an Australian couple (albeit native speakers) I noticed I started to shift towards an Australian accent. I’ve heard about people switching accents but don’t know if it’s normal that it’s this extreme and is there a way to trigger your brain to stop? Thanks in advance
