I live in the US where most of the hispanic population is Mexican 🇲🇽 or Central American 🇸🇻 🇬🇹 🇭🇳 🇳🇮 🇵🇦 🇨🇷.

However, the majority of all Caribbeans live on the East Coast where I live.

Unfortunately, I don't live in New York or Miami anymore, where most of my island bois are, but NC.

The majority of the hispanic population is Mexican and Central American like most of the countryand I have to deal with a few annoying things:

1. YES, I SPEAK SPANISH not 100% fluently but I can talk to you entirely in Spanish and not have to speak English if you have enough synonyms in your vocabulary and are willing to use them OR not use NATIVE WORDS. I'm not fucking with you or trying out my Rosetta Stone that I'm going to drop in a week and a half.

2. Give them a history lesson and explain Caribbeans are predominantly Black, Mulatto, White because Spaniards genocided our native Taïno people ( islands Puerto Rico and up)

3. TELL THEM THEY ARE NATIVE (which they some how never put together) and European. You are MESTIZO or Native

Some people are offended or confused I'm calling out they are native like it's some kind of archaic terminology.

Obviously not because you are standing right here. Native people are 1% of the population in the U.S. Many are part white so mestizo as well BUT THRY KNOW THEY ARE NATIVE.

1. Explain Spaniards use enslaved them and used their great grandmothers as sex slaves before they decided to bring African slaves from Africa or the Caribbean.

2. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS "LA RAZA". Most of you are native and Mestizo and you can recognize each other because you share native features not Spanish features

3. Your language is Spanish not your culture

4. You don't all have the same culture because you speak the same language 🇺🇸 🇯🇲 🇬🇾 🇬🇧 🇦🇺🇧🇿 🇹🇹 Never say "We are all the same. Lo0k aTouR EnGliSh cUltUre. We are all Anglo." Or Point to 🇸🇷 and 🇦🇼 they same way some point to 🇧🇷 and say: "We're all germanic"

5. Are you 🇨🇺, 🇩🇴, 🇵🇷? Me: My great-grandfather was 🇩🇴 I am 🇭🇹 Haitian Them: Dominicano🌴!!! Oooh😂 Eres un isleño.
