This is a question to my fellow front desk agents and front desk managers. I just checked in a guest who wanted me to “unregister him” after I checked him in. When I asked what he meant by that he wanted his name removed from everything and no trace that he was here left behind. I told him that I could not do that as we need to know who is in each room in case of an emergency. He then asked if i could change his name to an Alias and says that he used to be a pro baseball player and they only ever used alias’. I work in a small town where we don’t have anyone special staying needing to use an alias. I assured the guest that we do not give out any information, nor confirm or deny who is staying here unless it’s the police and they are here in person.
Just wondering if anyone else works somewhere that will allow guests to unregister or use an alias. Thanks!
