Honest Question
Post Body

Why do people invest so much time and energy over the issue circumcision at birth?

I’ve heard arguments that the baby doesn’t have a say whether or not they want it. And as a living thing, they deserve the right to choose!

I can see where these folks are coming from, but it’s the term “living thing” that gets me. So how about dogs and cats? Do they get a say on whether or not they get spayed or neutered? Do they have a say whether or not to be put down via injection when they’re clearly too old to live healthily? Do they get a say whether or not they want to be torn away from their mother and siblings?

Basically saying that if they want to use the “living thing” argument, they better be ready to apply it to all living things on the face of this planet. Otherwise, I can’t take them seriously what with their cherry-picking attempts.
