Anxiety about going to Gay Bar

Am in a big city and figured I’d check a local gay bar out. But feeling embarrassed that when it came time to enter he anxiety kept, walking and am now sitting at a different bar across the street. I’ve been open for a while now but currently feel like a big dumb idiot. Any words of wisdom?
