Is long-term monogamy possible for a gay guy?

I just came out like a year ago and I was wondering if it's possible for a gay couple to be monogamous? Or should I just suck it up and force myself to be open like every other couple? I find most gay guys will either cheat or open it up. I also feel insecure because I don't sleep around like every other gay guy (I'm 28 and a virgin). I just feel out of place.
