Does it make me an asshole if I don’t acknowledge people I don’t like in bars?

Post Body

I live in a city where my gay scene in small and somewhat cunt-y. I am 22 years old and have being going out since the summer of 2020.

While I know a lot of people and don’t have a problem with most I genuinely don’t like several people in the community. It’s usually because they give me a bad vibe, they’re hard to have a conversation with (mainly because they’re on drugs) or they have an annoying voice.

I am not rude directly but if they touch me or try to say hello I poker face ignore these people. I have a friend who has told me “don’t dismiss people because you might miss out on opportunities with them” which did make me think on two levels.

While yes I can meet amazing people who I first thought were awful for whatever reason, bird of a feather flock together and I don’t have time to deal with a probability of dissatisfaction.

I’m extroverted mostly and love being around people, just as much as I love dismissing people who I don’t like.

Am I an asshole?
