Question about body odor.

Lately I’ve been falling for an Indian man and he had a strong body odor. At first I was like whoa, that’s strong, but since I’ve been falling him, I started to like his BO.
My question is that do I ask him about his hygiene, do I leave it and just go with the flow?
Also I don’t want to imply any social norms, but could it be a cultural thing?
