Haven't had sex in a while thanks to the pandemic, though even before that I wouldn't say I had a lot of hookups. I usually like to get to know a guy a bit before commiting to that, but another reason is quite simply the fact that there's not that big a selection of guys, at least when it comes to apps.

I live in quite a touristic part of my country. A lot of people come here for the nice beaches, and in the summer there's usually a lot going on (in normal years at least). I'd say there's quite a lot of people living in my region, but you wouldn't know that by looking at the apps. Even though it's pretty LGBT friendly, there's still a big "don't ask, don't tell" mentality, and so a lot of guys are in the closet and don't show their face on apps. It's gotten to the point where I think there's more foreigners than my actual countrymen on apps, which is kind of depressing ngl

I find that if I want to actually be with a guy from my country and around my age, that I have to travel to the capital or other big cities. Otherwise I'm stuck having to deal with sexpats and condescending older foreign retirees (I like guys from other countries, but there's not a lot of actual cool guys in my region at least, just the creepy ones).

It's also annoying because I can't just crash at friends' houses for the sake of being able to hook up, because it's not often I visit them at the capital. And travelling there to stay at the hookup's house is kind of risky unless it's an fwb.

Anyway that's me venting. I like where I live, but I also find it limits me in a lot of ways.
