Am I wrong to ask if I could verify their PrEP prescription before engaging in unprotected sex?

Post Body

So I was talking to this guy who I was interested in and he wanted to go raw and said he was on PrEP. I told him that I don’t mind as long as I can just verify that he has a current prescription. He got mad and cut me off.

Am I wrong for asking? I was just wanting to make sure we are safe at least before doing anything. But maybe I shouldn’t have asked?

Edit: some of you were quick to shame someone for wanting to take extra steps towards safe sex so let me clarify something: I asked for safe sex with a condom, he insisted on unprotected sex and said he was on PrEP which prompted me to ask to see his prescription. To those who felt the need to get in their feelings about someone wanting to look out for their own health tells me that you are the same type of guys who I try to stay far away from because clearly you feel the need to shame and gaslight your partners if they don’t want to do something. So go ahead and continue to be assholes. I’m sure it will pay off in the long run 👌🏽
