Okay let me clarify I've gone on many many dates but it seems to me that at the end they're just formal etiquette for SEX. I'm 23 I live in LA and now that everything is closed I turned to tinder yet again. I had used tinder before and after collecting over 600 matches since 2019 every "date" ends the same. They either want to have sex in the car as they drop me off or they send me nudes the next day. It's really sad because I seem to be the only one with the let's get to know each-other first mentality. Maybe it's just the LA gay scene which seems super toxic to me. When I talk with guys (tinder) I make sure to tell them I'm not looking for hook ups and I have that in my bio as well. While in quarantine I've gone on two different "dates" the first one I went hiking and the other I went to see a movie at a guys place and I had a wonderful time at both and both the guys were handsome which helped a lot, the dates seemed to be going great; however, just when I thought things were finally going different the hiking guy sent nudes the next day and the movie one tried to hook up and after I politely declined he asked me to stay the night and after I said I'm not comfortable he said ok and we said goodbye but the next day he sent a message that said it didn't sit right with him the way I left and didn't stay the night. I explained that I didn't feel comfortable staying over someones house whom I've just met and that's how that ended. Even Pre covid I used to go to bars by myself but it was the same everyone was just trying to have sex. Is this an LA thing or in general do gay guys behave this way? I've had a friend tell me that his relationships start by him hooking up and then if they like eachother they start something. I don't want to do it that way but I feel like an anomaly now which feels strange. Please let me know your thoughts and opinions please.
