Some men find their significant other, and stay together for decades (or maybe even for the rest of their lives). Some other men go on a cycle of series of relationships, and later break them up. Some men prefer staying single, and engage in casual sex. Some other men can't seem to find a partner (for any reason), despite their willingness to enter an intimate relationship.
I've read all these kinds of relationship stories on reddit, but I started to wonder what are the underlying factors that influenced/forced men to take those life decisions. Do you know of any existing literature on how such factors (like personality, culture, oppression, social status, or even luck) shape the experience of each male looking for a same-sex relationship (e.g. gay, bi, asexual)?
I honestly don't know where to start, or what are the keywords I should use to find such case studies. My few attempts at using Google Scholar have turned out nothing useful. I'd appreciate any pointers.
