TL;DR - I am interested to date someone, even considering of moving to his location to be closer. But I do not know how to tell him without making it appear too overwhelming.
So here's the long story. December 2017, I was in New York and I matched with someone in a dating app. I have a "traditional" way of dating in "non-traditional" relationships. That is, I don't jump off the bed right away with someone, even if the opportunity opens. I prefer knowing the person more and see if there's a connection and if it can be taken to the next level as I am LTR oriented.
We had a good chat, exchange of pleasantries, and even planned to meet. However, because of the weather and unforeseen circumstances, we never met, but we remained matched. Fast forward 10 months, I am visiting NY again and I tried reaching out to him to see if he's free to meet for dinner. Surprisingly, he replied with the same number that we used to communicate earlier in our communication. While there, we had a good dinner, and chat. We weren't supposed to separate ways but the store was already closing and we have no other place to go, (plus he's tired for the day).
One of the striking points that I saw is that at a young age, our wavelengths connected in our discussion. It's like I am talking to someone of my age and there was never a boring moment. When we separated ways that night, I stopped myself from hugging him because it might be misconstrued as something else but I wanted to that night and show my appreciation for meeting me plus the different insights we shared and talked about. I have always wanted to move to NY but there are some things that I need to fix in the west coast before moving there. At the top of my head, he would be one of the reasons that would make me consider moving from CA to NY, though not totally. I wanted to become us, but it may be I am just infatuated with the scenario. Plus, I am in a way a non-believer of long distance relationships since words are cheap (ergo text, and calls) and in budding relationships, romantic or non-romantic, I believe that distance matters (got burned on distance issues twice actually, despite making the best effort to move to their location). This time, I am really stoked on moving there but it would be a plus if there's a chance for us to get closer.
So my question is, how would you tell someone you like them so much that you wanted to know them better BUT you are on different timezones. I am not sure if you are here but if BKLYN guy is here, I just wanted to let you know that SF guy misses you. :)
