Are Guys who are looking for TS only trying to hide?

Always wondered if this is a way for them to feel comfortable about being gay and use it as coverup. I've noticed the guys who are mainly into Trans people are super macho....is it an insult or considered fetishizing to be into only Trans/crossdressing/passable trans?
