Late bloomer, how does prep work during exposure?

Post Body

I’ve been on prep for a little over a month. I try to educate myself as much as possible. I haven’t been exposed to someone that is unaware of being hiv yet but hypothetical scenario let’s say I did meet someone who is detectable and didn’t know and I decide to bottom. I know that prep would stop the virus from mutating (I take it daily) but what becomes of the cells/virus that you’re exposed to? Do they die? Do they stay in your system? I’m sorry if this is common knowledge for most of y’all but as I said I’m a late bloomer and trying to educate myself.
