I'm a 23-year-old single guy in Miami, where everyone in the scene pretty much knows each other. A few months back, I started following this DJ after seeing him on a popular lineup and went to one of his sets. Honestly, I was more interested in him than the music—he's super attractive and constantly posts thirst traps on Instagram, so naturally, I liked a few. Then I found out he had a long-term boyfriend, and since I was mainly following him because I was into him, I decided to pull back.
Fast forward to now, I seem to run into him at almost every party. He clearly recognizes me but never approaches. At the last party, his boyfriend was there, and by the way he was looking at me, I couldn't tell if he wanted to talk, fight, or something else. The boyfriend would stand uncomfortably close to me and my friends, just glaring as the guy ran around having fun. Mind you they’re both almost 30.
If he was trying to intimidate me, it definitely wasn’t working. If anything, I found it a bit of a turn-on.
Honestly, if I were in his position and knew someone was interested in my partner, I'd make sure my partner and I were visibly close to send a clear message to any outsiders, not just stand there staring awkwardly.
