So with the possibility of an early federal election, politics is top of mind.
Since I became legal age to vote, ai have always voted NDP. I am still indeed to do so with all of their social program platforms, lgbtq rights oriented goals. They are so close to the Liberal Platform that I'm on the fence between the two. Mostly, unfortunatly because with a POC as their leader, I feel that Canada is still too racist to vote him him on that alone.
On the flip side, I do agree with some of the conservative platform points. In particular gun control easement (undoing the Liberal gun ban measures). I'm a hunter, outdoorsman and gun owner. Which often does not jive with being Queer. The Cons also are notoriously anti-LGBTQ . Which in today's White, straight male sights are on our Trans friends and family.
I'm honestly so torn, it's so hard to choose. The are plenty of arguments on both sides. It's just one of those things that my personal identity as a queer man, living rural really doesn't help me in these decisions.
