A few weeks ago my former best friend from school, he is now 24 and I'm 23, had decided to message me on Grindr and we have not seen each other for a very long time as he transitioned to a different high school. I live in the UK for context.

I opened the message assuming it to be another man wanting to meet up but when I looked at the profile and realised it was my old best mate from school. I was loss for words. Maybe he didn't recognise as so much time has passed and didn't realised who he had messaged? I also didn't know he was gay like myself. He wanted to meet but I politely declined.

I could never see myself doing that with a friend.
